Game Time – September Sermon Series
Aug 26th
Do your kids ever wonder why God made them? He definitely made them different (you can say that again, lol). Well, God made us all different so that we can do different jobs for Him. God gives us all gifts and experiences to use for His glory. God will place us near different people so that we can show them His love. For the Month of September we will be sharing with the kids at Faith Factory (6-12 year olds) that they have a personal mission from God. We think that it is important that kids begin to seek out ways to share God’s love. When kids understand their personal mission from God, we can be sure that they are owning their own faith. We will be sharing this teaching through a football theme. On September 29th, we will have a Football Fanatic Sunday. Be sure that your child is dressed in their favorite football teams gear with face paint and all. Here is the breakdown week by week on what we will be tackling (pun intended).
1 Week – God’s Play Book – What does God want me to do? I’m just a kid!
2 Week – Practice – How do I find out what God wants me to do? (Through Prayer)
3 Week – Study the Opponent – What happens if I mess up? (Fear)
4 Week – Game Time – When do I kick it off? (Looking for the open door)
VBS was Awesome!
Aug 4th

Vacation Bible School (VBS) was held July 26-30 and it was awesome! It was awesome to see all the kids really excited to come each day and learn God’s Word. Not only were the kids excited, the volunteers were also.
This year during VBS everyone learned that God’s Word is true, comforting, surprising, life-changing, and for everyone. All the station leaders did a great job teaching these truths to the kids. It was fun to sit back and watch both the 12 year olds and the 4 year olds grasp these truths.
Much props to the 4&5 year olds who won the special prize (Silly Bandz) at the end of the week for their excellence in behavior and in participation. Even though the 4&5 year olds won by one point with two teams tied for second, everyone went home happy. Our friends at Chick-a-fila gave all the kids a free 4 piece chicken nugget meal! The kids were stoked and so were the parents. So much so that I was told that over half of the church was at Chick-a-fila for lunch on Friday.
We were blessed this year to have an average of 65 kids each day and an average of 95 total people involved. Over half of our volunteers were teenagers. VBS was an awesome experience in 2010! Stay tuned early next year for announcements on how to be involved in Vacation Bible School.
Kid’s Camp 2010 Recap
Jun 22nd
Kids Camp was AWESOME!!! We had 33 kids enrolled this year plus staff. The kids had a great time during the their electives in the morning. We had three electives available (Drama, Cooking, and Sports). The Drama team performed on the last night of camp during service. They were great! In Cooking class the kids made a goody bag for their Fathers for Father’s Day. What a brilliant idea! They bags were filled with chocolate covered popcorn, chocolate covered strawberries, and chocolate covered pretzels, etc.
The kids had a blast at Adventure Landing, Skate Station, and Pump it Up for our excursions. It was super hot, so we had to make sure our kids didn’t get too overheated. It was our first year going to Pump it Up. I think it went great. It was funny to watch the kids as we left Pump it Up. They looked like they went they had been through war. I can believe it. I played a quick game of inflatable basketball and got smoked on the obstacle course by Jessica Lloyd and I was done. To the lobby I went.
The most notable thing that God did in our kids is at the altar. The altar time is my favorite. This is what camp is all about – meeting God face-to-face. It was an awesome thing for the camp staff and myself to see kids open their hearts to God and allow Him to work within them. There are so many stories I wish I could tell. The stories are heart wrenching and cause me to pray more diligently for our kids as my eyes are opened to the pressures and sins that they deal with.
Thanks to all who made Kid’s Camp 2010 a success!
Royal Rangers Achievement Party
Jun 10th
On June 9th we had our Achievement Party for the Royal Rangers (boys K-6th). We had so much fun! The night was filled with tons of games, some crazy videos, and a celebration of all the hard work that the boys had done. Drew Sedlachek was awarded Ranger of the Year which is the highest honor for a Ranger. Congrats Drew! Below is just a few of the pictures from the party (thanks to Kelly Dekin). A lot of hard work was put into making this night a success. Special thanks to all the commanders, parents, and Josh McKie for being our Emcee.
Go to our Media section to see some review videos we showed at the Achievement Party.
